Our work Maison Sport

Maison Sport was created by three industry professionals with over 25 years of ski teaching experience. All ex-British ski team members and fully-qualified ski instructors, their vision for Maison Sport was conceived after the trio acquired a traditional ski school in France, where revenue has since increased around eight times.

Witnessing an antiquated way of booking lessons, they spotted an opportunity to solve a problem for customers and ski instructors, using a technology platform to directly connect the two parties.  Maison Sport cuts costs to the customer of up 50% and provides a more ethical and profitable practice for the instructors who keep up 93% of the cost of the lessons.

The Maison Sport marketplace includes more than 364 resorts and over 1,300 trusted, qualified instructors across France, Switzerland, Italy and Austria.  In France, Maison Sport’s instructor pool is second only to the Ecole de Ski Francais, founded in 1945.

To build more trust with their customers and increase brand awareness; achieve more coverage in well-known online publications and break into the travel industry news; pave the way for future partnerships with big travel companies; leverage strategic partnerships with complementary brands; raise business profile of all key business members, demonstrating their experience and innovative brand offering, and spark interest from future investors by showcasing the success and USP of the brand. Maison Sport wanted to become the “go to” destination for booking ski and snowboard lessons in Europe and to make it simple and easy for people to book lessons all over the world.

Four Media Group crafted regular press releases communicating brand updates and profiled the  business though media interviews for all relevant business stakeholders, including board members. We capitalised on regional media hooks, produced positive case studies, organised bespoke press trips and employed newsjacking, constantly monitoring the media, to take advantage of topical opportunities eg around Covid-19 pandemic restrictions being lifted, to obtain media coverage. 

More than 100 pieces of coverage from January to December in national, regional and industry media, including PlanetSKI, The Telegraph, Yahoo (Life and Sport), Scottish Business News, The Daily Telegraph, MSN (Lifestyle, UK and Ireland), Daily Express, New Business Magazine and Daily Mirror, totalling more than 502.8million opportunities to view.
